He is deeply involved in his community, particularly in whitewater paddling organizations. He serves as a financial advisor to the Hartwood Foundation, a charity that provides housing for mentally challenged adults in community settings. Additionally, he donates his time and resources to the Bull Run Mountains Conservancy, a conservation charity where he volunteers and supports their mission.
