Nasser begins with how investing in the past used to feel like you would put your money to work so you would not have to. However, thoughts of fear in investing were also apparent. Now, in more recent years, investors began looking at other non-financial qualities that can impact investors. Over the years, institutions have been studying SRI/ESG performance to analyze investor returns. Nasser explains how socially responsible investing (SRI), the environmental, as well as social and governance (ESG) can all effect what investors do with their money.
Nasser also mentions in the article, “It is safe to say that SRI and ESG investing are here to stay. Industry acceptance, coupled with performance and multiple access points, gives investors many options should they choose to align their investment dollars with a set of values.”
